One-Day Tooth Restoration Will Have You Smiling
A dental crown or tooth cap protects and strengthens a compromised tooth that can’t be restored with fillings, inlays, or onlays. A dental crown is also required after a root canal because removal of the infected dental pulp makes the tooth more vulnerable to fracture. A crown can also improve the appearance of misshapen, misaligned, or discolored teeth. A dental bridge fills a space that a tooth previously occupied, with supporting crowns on each side, thereby preventing the shifting of adjacent teeth and helping to preserve dental function.
If you have a missing, chipped, broken, or misshapen tooth, today you have alternatives to traditional crowns and bridges thanks to CEREC® technology. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. At Geller Family Dental, we love investing in state-of-the-art technologies that deliver an improved patient experience and beautiful outcomes. Dr. Andrew Geller and his team have many years of cosmetic dentistry experience, including training in fabricating customized, premium-quality ceramic dental bridges and crowns in Yonkers, NY using CEREC technology.

CEREC Technology Streamlines The Tooth Crown Process
Traditional crowns and bridges require at least two dental visits. During the first visit, teeth are numbed, filed down, and any decay removed to prepare for the crown(s). Then, an impression with dental putty is made for the temporary and permanent crowns. After 10–14 days, the permanent crown from the dental lab is fitted, often requiring minor adjustments. When you get a CEREC restoration at Geller Family Dental, this eliminates the downsides of traditional dental bridges and crowns.
It enhances the ability to deliver incredible accuracy, superb quality control, design flexibility, and patient convenience. Dr. Geller uses 3D imaging software to create a digital impression and map of your teeth. The impression is loaded into our CEREC machine to create a customized restoration plan. The plan is then loaded into our on-site milling machine to create your restoration while you wait. After the milling process is complete, all ceramic zirconium oxide CEREC restorations are sintered and glazed prior to placement.
